Willem van Oppen currently holds the position of Chief Procurement Officer of Royal KPN. In that Capacity he is also responsible for Supply Chain Optimization & Standardization. He joined KPN in 2003. Before that he spent two years at Royal Philips Electronics as Senior Vice President responsible for Procurement and Supply Chain Optimization. 
His roots are in the Process Industry where he spent the better part of his career (22 years). He held a host of senior Management positions with DSM, the Dutch Chemical multinational, at home and abroad (US: President North American Marketing & Sales Organization; and Japan: Executive VP and General Manager of JV manufacturing EPDM rubber for the automotive Industry.) 
His expertise is notably in Supply Chain Management, System Dynamics, Kaizen and Lean Procurement. Willem was educated at the Erasmus University and at Stanford University.
